The Simpsons aired its Season 36 premiere last Sunday on Fox, titled ‘Bart’s Birthday.’ The episode featured several celebrity appearances from the likes of Danny DeVito, Tom Hanks, and wrestling legend John Cena. When he was announced to be a part of the episode, many simply expected him to be a guest at Bart’s birthday party. However, what happened on the show blew everyone’s mind.
During the episode, a woman could be seen going into labor while in a comic store. A guy makes a phone call to his OBGYN, telling him that he is his only hope. A highly odd-looking caricature of Cena walked through the door, claiming to be the only licensed midwife to win 16 WWE Championships. He claimed that he was in town to attend an energy drink launch party. Cena drank the beverage, smashed the can against his head and started screaming.
Cena’s character asked those nearby him to grab some items, and he successfully delivered the baby. He even performed a modified version of his classic “You can’t see me!” catchphrase for the baby. The couple walked out with the character, and the guy looked elated after his baby was delivered successfully.

Before the Cenation Leader’s appearance, only Bret “The Hitman” Hart made an official voiced cameo in the show. He bought Mr. Burns’ manor in ‘The Old Man and Lisa’ in season eight of the show. Cena’s animated projects have been successful in the past. He has previously featured in Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery and The Flintstones & WWE: Stone Age Smackdown.
CM Punk reveals his pick for John Cena’s final opponent in WWE
CM Punk and John Cena have shared a personal and professional relationship for a long time. These two superstars have put on incredible matches, and it is no secret that the Straight Edge Superstar has a lot of respect for the erstwhile Doctor of Thuganomics. He even paid tribute to the Hollywood superstar in his final AEW match at All In 2023 against Samoa Joe.
Speaking on 103.5 KISSFM, CM Punk was asked who he thought should be the final opponent for Cena during his retirement tour. The Best in the World said that he would be flattered if the 47-year-old decided to step into the ring with him at any point in the tour. However, the Raw Superstar would be equally happy if he was not a part of that story as well.
Punk mentioned how Cena had such an incredible career over the past two decades. Someone from his past, like Randy Orton, could be a great pick for the 16x World Champion. However, he opined that the wrestling legend would likely want to pass the baton on to someone else before he hung up his boots for good. Therefore, he could easily choose a new opponent like Gunther.
