Watch: Andrade and Cody Rhodes crash through a burning table on AEW Dynamite
Rhodes and Andrade
Cody Rhodes is an American professional wrestler, who also serves as the Executive Vice President of All Elite Wrestling. He used to perform on the WWE main roster from 2007 to 2016, before requesting his release. In 2019, he was unveiled as an AEW wrestler and their EVP. Rhodes went on to become the inaugural AEW TNT Champion.
Rhodes has held the title in AEW twice. Since losing it the second time, he has been more involved in the non-title bouts. Cody had even feuded against the legendary basketball player Shaquille O’Neal. Rhodes is currently feuding against another former WWE Superstars – Andrade El Idolo. On the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, the La Sombra faced The American Nightmare in an Atlanta Street Fight.
The two Superstars delivered a brutal bout, which ended with Andrade and Cody Rhodes crashing through a burning table. Rhodes connected a Reverse Suplex off the top rope onto the flaming table, and picked up the win via pinfall. Interestingly, the table was set on fire by Brandi Rhodes. The match had kicked off with Andrade attacking Cody, while the latter was making his entrance. They brawled into the crowd, used the trashcans, tables, chairs, steelsteps, a golden shovel and a laptop too! A sledgehammer and a taser almost came into play too. But overall, both the performers managed to deliver one of the most brutal bouts of the year.
Cody Rhodes discusses his future with AEW
Earlier this week, Cody Rhodes appeared for an interview with Sports Illustrated, where he was asked about his future as a wrestler and as the Executive Vice President. The former WWE Superstar did not mince his words when he mentioned that he was going to stick with AEW.
“As of now, my future is with AEW. AEW would be very strange without the core members of the revolution. We all still talk. We all have this admiration for each other. I can’t see myself anywhere else, and I’m very optimistic about what the future holds,” mentioned the Executive Vice President.
