Earlier this month at WrestleMania XL, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson competed in his first WWE match in 8 years. From his aggrandized walkout to the ring to an immaculate in-ring outing, the action-comedy movie star emerged victorious alongside his cousin Roman Reigns. They outmaneuvered the duo of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins after a grueling 45-minute tussle. However, a recent claim states that The Great One didn’t show up on time that night.

Per a story from The Wrap, the 51-year-old was three hours late, arriving ahead of his tag team match. However, the claim has been debunked by WWE’s EVP for Talent Relations, Chris Legentil. The latter stated that The Rock was not only on time for WrestleMania; he pulled up earlier than expected to help with the rehearsals. Legentil also added that it was a pleasure to work with Mr. Johnson for his entire run.

The Brahma Bull last appeared on Raw post WrestleMania XL. He confronted the brand-new WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes with a promise to go after him once the Black Adam star returns next time. The People’s Champ has also given NXT trio Gallus its flowers for helping him breeze past a rigorous 12-week training camp for WrestleMania.

He’s slated to begin filming for The Smashing Machine shortly. The Mark Kerr-based biopic is expected to be wrapped by August 1. That leaves the door open for Johnson to make an appearance at this year’s SummerSlam, scheduled for August 3rd. However, it’s by far a long shot to expect to see him wrestle at the PLE. The Great One has already stated that he has his sights set on WrestleMania 41.

Is The Rock vs. Roman Reigns a reason behind WWE deferring WrestleMania 41 location?

While it’s almost certain that The Rock will be around for next year’s WrestleMania, the question is: who would he face? The prevailing reports suggest that it could be Cody Rhodes, given the promo they had on Raw a few weeks ago. However, the long-awaited dream between Dwayne Johnson and Roman Reigns is what the fans are most looking forward to.

It might come to fruition in 2025. Recently, WrestleVotes posted that Minneapolis is losing its grip on being a ‘Mania host with each passing day. The longer an official announcement from WWE remains under wraps, the stronger it gets for Las Vegas to obtain the hosting rights.

There’s some speculation among the fans that Rock vs. Reigns could be a major reason why WWE is keen on Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world. Whatever that might be, WWE wants to unveil the details as soon as possible.
