Finn Balor feels that some of the many professional wrestlers who have been released by WWE, might gain more, than lose, from the decision. Since 2020, WWE has been on a talent releasing spree, mainly owing to the budget cuts.

In fact, in 2021 alone, WWE has released 55 of their talents – which includes the Superstars, referees and even the announcers. The Fiend Bray Wyatt, Ric Flair, Aleister Black and Braun Strowman are just a few among the scores of released talents.

But the inaugural WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor believes that some of these Superstars will now have more freedom and opportunities to excel in their careers. The Prince recently appeared for an interview with Oliver Browning of The Independent, where the topic of the released WWE talents was brought up.

“A lot of these people, it’s going to be for their benefit, to help them grow outside WWE. There are some incredible chances on the independents. You never want to see these types of things happen…but you have to look at the positives of these situations, these people have been offered an opportunity to start again,” mentioned Balor.

“You can start fresh with a new character, without anyone hands-on or manipulating your ideas. So you’ve got to accept the situation, move forward, embrace it, grow and create,” he continued.

Finn Balor is the inaugural WWE Universal Champion. He had defeated Seth Rollins, interestingly at Summerslam itself, to win the title. But due to an injury that he sustained during the match, he had to relinquish the title.

When he returned, he was on the NXT brand and couldn’t go after the main roster title. But this year, on the first Smackdown episode, in front of a live audience, Balor returned to the main roster. Surprisingly Universal Champion Roman Reigns rejected John Cena’s challenge and accepted Balor’s challenge for WWE Summerslam 2021.

Everything was set. The two Superstars were ready to sign the contract for the Universal Championship match, until Baron Corbin and John Cena decided to interfere. As things turned out, Cena took Balor’s spot in the Summerslam match!

But Balor still has a chance. There is one episode of Smackdown still to go before the “Biggest Party of the Summer”. It remains to be seen whether Balor manages to insert himself into the match and make it a three-way match or he decides to wait before getting a shot at the title.
