As mentioned earlier, Brock Lesnar competed in a three-match rivalry with Cody Rhodes. The Beast Incarnate turned heel on the Raw after Mania 39 and attacked The American Nightmare. The feud heated in the coming weeks, and their first match happened at Backlash 2023 with Cody’s victory.

At Night of Champions 2023, Brock avenged his loss and took out his ire on the injured Rhodes. The moment gave Rhodes the needed sympathy from the WWE Universe after his damaging loss at the hands of Brock. Moreover, a month of silence gave Lesnar a break and saw his return to close the chapter with Cody.
