“I’m giving myself an opportunity,” Charlotte Flair exudes confidence ahead of Royal Rumble

Charlotte Flair has been the most successful women in the entire history of WWE. There is no other women on the roster who has even come close to equaling her record of winning 13 World Championships in WWE. In fact, there are only a handful of her male counterparts who have won more titles than her in the company.

Currently holding the Smackdown Women’s Champion, Flair is in her 13th reign as the Champion. She had defeated Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. in a triple threat match at Summerslam 2021 to win the Raw Women’s title. She had then exchanged the title for the Smackdown title, due to the WWE Draft.

Since then, she has successfully defended her title against the likes of Toni Storm and Naomi. On the latest episode of Smackdown, Charlotte Flair put her title on the line against Naomi. After some questionable moves from the special guest referee, Sonya Deville, Flair managed to retain her title, and ensure she walks into the Royal Rumble as a Champion.

Post her match on the Blue brand, the Smackdown Women’s Champion appeared for a WWE Digital Exclusive interview. The Queen was exuding confidence and even pointed out her successful performances at the Rumble. “The last three years, I’ve either won the rumble, lasted the last three, or lasted the last two. If I’m betting, I’m betting on myself,” Flair mentioned.

But this wasn’t all. She is all prepared for winning the Rumble and main-eventing Wrestlemania 38. “This year I’m not giving everyone else an opportunity, I’m giving myself an opportunity to main-event WrestleMania when I win the Royal Rumble.”

The Royal Rumble winners are awarded with the right to main-event Wrestlemania in a title match of their choice. Hence, it is quite uncommon to see a Champion entering the battle royal match which includes 30 participants.

But with Charlotte Flair entering the Royal Rumble match, she could be aiming for something bigger. In case she manages to win the Rumble, she might decide to go after Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship – with the aim of becoming a Double Champion!
