What are the terms of Kevin Owens’ new WWE contract?
Owens
Kevin Owens is one of the biggest Superstars on the WWE roster today. He is a Superstar who can never be kept away from the main event for too long. The Prizefighter kicked off 2021 in a massive feud against the Universal Champion Roman Reigns. It was one of the first feuds for the Head of the Table.
Owens is ending the year with a Championship too, although on a different brand. He is current a part of the WWE Championship feud on Raw. But he has been the talking point for the world of professional wrestling – not for his feuds, but for his contract with WWE. His contract was set to expire on January 31st, 2021.
While Owens himself acknowledged the fact that his contract was set to expire on live TV, fans expected him to move to a competitive brand like All Elite Wrestling. After all, some of the top Superstars of the industry like Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman were recently released to. But a pleasant surprise was received by the WWE Universe, when it was revealed that Owens had signed a new contract with WWE.
Kevin Owens has signed a new three-year contract with WWE, which means that he is signed with the company till January 2024. But interestingly, there is also a no-cut clause in his new contract. This means that WWE reserves the right to release Owens at any point of time when they feel that he isn’t valuable enough to the roster.
Reportedly, Owens is being offered $2-3 million annually. He is currently a part of the WWE Championship feud and will soon be seen in Fatal 4-Way match at WWE Day 1. The match will also see Big E, Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley in action.
Kevin Owens is a main-event WWE Superstar
Kevin Owens will be earning $2-3 million annually from WWE, under his new contract. Considering the massive amount that the company is willing to pay to retain Owens, it is quite obvious that they consider him to be a massive Superstar. We might see him feature heavily in the main-event scene.
Currently, he is a part of the WWE Championship feud. Initially it was supposed that Owens was added to this feud to take the pinfall – so that the other Superstars could be protected. But this was back when Owens was expected to leave the company. But now with him staying back with the company, we might see Owens in some blockbuster feuds.
