“Oh sh**,” Hall of Famer cannot contain her feelings as she gears up to face Becky Lynch
Raw Women's Champion
Becky Lynch is one of the most popular names in the professional wrestling industry. After over an year long hiatus from the company – due to her pregnancy, she made her surprise return to the company at Summerslam 2021. As soon as she returned, Lynch challenged Bianca Belair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship and managed to pin her within 26 seconds.
As the Champion of the Blue brand, Lynch feuded against Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair. Post this, she was occupied with Survivor, where she feuded against the then-Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. During both the instances she emerged victorious and then exchanged her title with Flair, due to the WWE Draft.
As the Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch kicked off a feud against Bianca Belair. While the EST of WWE is one of the few Superstars who could legitimately pin Lynch, the WWE Universe had already seen enough of these two Superstars in a short span of time. WWE heard the fans and gave us two new opponents for Lynch, in the form of Liv Morgan and Doudrop.
The feud against Liv Morgan went for a significantly long period, while the one with Doudrop was just a one-off thing. But on both the occasions, Big Time Becks emerged victorious. Her biggest challenger, in her current title reign, arrived at Royal Rumble, in the form of WWE Hall of Famer Lita. She was one of the returning Superstars in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
The WWE Hall of Famer recently appeared for an interview with Denise Salcedo, where she discussed her thoughts, when the Lynch vs Lita idea was pitched to her. “They hit me at a great time, right after the match. Literally like, sweaty, like right coming out, ‘what do you think about facing Becky in a couple of weeks?’ And I was like, ‘what? Yes. Oh sh-, did I say yes?’,” mentioned Lita.
“I didn’t have a chance to doubt, or think about all the reasons I shouldn’t face Becky, or all of the reasons I wouldn’t be ready or what could possibly go wrong. All I thought of is what could possibly go right, committed to that and haven’t looked back,” added the Hall of Famer.
Becky Lynch and Lita will collide at Elimination Chamber
Post Royal Rumble, it seemed like we would be getting two marquee women’s matches at Wrestlemania 38 – Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair vs Lita. But WWE took a complete swerve. After Rousey won the Royal Rumble, she announced she will be going after Flair instead of Lynch.
While this announcement was being made, Lita capitalized on the opportunity and challenged Becky Lynch for a match at the Elimination Chamber. This feud has the perfect storyline of Lynch going against her childhood star Lita. The two Superstars will be heading to Saudi Arabia for their epic bout.
