WWE-affiliated games have been such a great part of most wrestling fans’ lives throughout the years. The WWE Universe takes every little detail in the game seriously and doesn’t shy away from voicing their displeasure if they don’t like something. Recently, fans noticed a ridiculous difference in the overall ratings in the new WWE 2K24 game, which gained attention and caused a massive stir online. 

Now, WWE 2K24 game producer Bryan Williams has revealed the reason behind the huge difference in superstars’ overall ratings. He spoke on the topic, which caused plenty of controversy with an interview with KNOTFEST. Williams revealed they had to keep every superstar in the appropriate bandwidth based on their progress since last year.

They defined different factors based on which they gave the ratings to superstars, like titles and matches won over the last year and character development. As a team, they had to specify that everyone couldn’t get the same ratings as Roman Reigns, who has had the highest overall rating.

The game’s producer found it cool when the game ratings of particular superstars popped up on the screen during their match. James further added that they always try to do what is best for WWE and their superstars, and that they have the company’s trust. Nonetheless, the WWE Universe has enjoyed the game, regardless of whether they like the overall ratings or not. 

Top 5 WWE superstars with the highest overall ratings in WWE 2K24

Not only fans but the WWE superstars themselves have expressed interest in their ratings, secretly hoping gain a higher ranking among their colleagues. In WWE 2K24, the top 5 superstars with the highest ratings had a stellar 2023, including capturing titles and winning countless matches.

The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes reached the top 5 with an impressive 93 overall rating. He had an excellent year, from winning the Royal Rumble to headlining WrestleMania. Some fans even made the argument, claiming that his rating should be higher. Seth Rollins joined him with the same rating, as he became the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion in 2023. 

Bianca Belair got an overall rating of 95, making her the second highest in the women’s division. Current Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley edges past the EST of WWE by just one point with 96, following arguably the best year of her career. And The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, got the highest overall rating in the entire game with 97.
