Austin Theory is all set to face Bobby Lashley on the 30th anniversary edition of RAW. It’s been quite a while now that Theory has been involved in a feud with Seth Rolins and Bobby Lashley. Lashley defeated Seth Rollins, Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, Finn Balor, and The Miz to win the No. 1 contender’s match for the US Championship.

The Almighty speared Rollins at the end to seal the deal. Austin Theory won the championship at the Survivor Series WarGames, where he defeated both Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley. Theory most recently defended the championship against Rollins on the January 2nd edition of RAW.

When compared to Vince McMahon’s regime, Austin Theory appears to be more dominant and aggressive. He clearly seems to have gone past being a goofball. The Former Mr. Money in the Bank was thought to be buried when he lost the MITB contract, but he has resurrected after the loss.

Vince McMahon has always wanted to make Theory the next John Cena and feels as if he is going that way. Austin Theory’s physique and arrogant demeanour have been compared to John Cena’s early career. In fact, the US Championship was also the first championship that Cena had won in his career.

A recent episode of Writing with Russo had Vince Russo saying that an unidentified WWE Superstar indicated that WWE was considering the US Champion as the successor to John Cena. Russo said that while he is fine with WWE wanting to make Theory the next Cena, he doesn’t like the way Theory has been booked in recent times.

“Bro, as a shoot, me and Disco [Inferno] had a conversation. The guy said to him, as a shoot, they are looking at Austin Theory, they are saying he’s the next John Cena……They ain’t booking him like the next Cena, bro. That’s where I’m losing the disconnect, bro”

Austin Theory is the name that has been coming forward in the list of probable names that would fight Cena at the grandest stage of them all. In fact, it is rumored that John Cena and the US Champion have reportedly filmed a promo too.

According to a recent report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The 16-time World Champion could go one-on-one with Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39.

“It looks like it’s going to be Cena and Theory at ‘Mania. It was the plan way, way back.”

Logan Paul is also said to be in talks to face John Cena at the event. The John Cena vs. Austin Theory match was originally scheduled to take place at SummerSlam last year, but it didn’t take place due to several reasons. Fans feel that Austin Theory will face Cena instead of Logan Paul since the plan has been in place for a while.
