Longest reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley teases her comeback status on Twitter

Bayley flexing in the ring in WWE
Bayley has been teasing about her injury situation on her Twitter handle, which appears to be a new update about her WWE comeback. SmackDown’s longest-reigning women’s champ has now been sidelined. The 33-year-old had injured her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during preparation for her “Money in the Bank I Quit” bout against Bianca Belair back in July 2020.
The nine-month period that she was supposed to stay away from wrestling action ended in April. Despite that, Bayley has yet to make a comeback. This year, Bayley has continuously teased her followers on social media with references to a Role Model comeback.
When we interpret her most recent social media posts, they seem to suggest she is still healing from the injuries, it appears that statement may be a little deceiving. The most recent hint she tweeted was earlier in the month, when she shared a picture of what appeared to be her wrestling sneakers, with laces tied and prepared to go for a bout.
What do Bayley’s tweets reveal about her comeback?

On June 23, NXT star Cora Jade sent the SmackDown star a birthday greeting on Twitter and offered her a playful challenge. Bayley appreciated her young competitor but pleaded with her to show some respect because she is still recovering from a knee injury.
She wrote, “Thanks, suga mama. PS – Please respect me, I am injured with a B.A.K.”
Another response, this time intended towards another NXT superstar, Indie Hartwell, who once more went on Twitter to greet Bayley on her birthday, further supported that claim.
The 34-year-old grand-slam winner tweeted, “Thanks, my injury won’t sloan me down.”
Bayley was not selected in the WWE Draft in October last year because she was not officially a WWE employee at the time. Meanwhile, the WWE universe had hypothesized that she might’ve been a surprise inclusion at the MITB event. However, that’s not the case.
As of now, the SmackDown superstar is officially a “free agent.” Given this most recent development, it seems like fans still will have to wait some while longer to witness her return to the ring.
