UPDATE: Interesting plans for Brock Lesnar Vs Roman Reigns’ Undisputed Universal Championship match at Summerslam possibly revealed

Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns have been arch-rivals for a long time.

Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns have been arch-rivals for a long time. The rivalry between them started in 2015 when the two faced each other at Wrestlemania 31 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which Seth Rollins had won after cashing in his Money in The Bank contract to commit the heist of the century. The two then collided on various occasions then including Fastlane 2016, in a triple threat match with Dean Ambrose which Roman won. The two then faced each other in a fatal 4-way match at Summerslam 2017 which The Beast Incarnate would win, successfully defending his title.

The two would then go on to face each other at Wrestlemania 34 in which Brock would again emerge victorious. The pair’s rivalry would then continue to The Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia where Brock would defeat Reigns again in a botched finish. Then the two exchanged blows at Summerslam 2018, where Reigns would hand in Brock’s first defeat against The Big Dog and would also win the title.

WWE opting a different strategy for the Brock Lesnar Vs Roman Reigns encounter

Brock Lesnar Vs Roman Reigns
Brock Lesnar will challenge Reigns for the title at Summerslam.

Till this time Roman was a babyface but was being booed by fans and nothing was working in the favor of The Big Dog. This is when the creatives would give the character a makeover and make Reigns a heel labeling him as “The Head of The Table” and leader of the faction- “Bloodline”. The gimmick received a huge appreciation from fans and critics as well. The Beast would now be projected as a babyface to take on the heel Reigns at The Crown Jewel, but would subsequently lose to Reigns, shocking many.

The two would then square off at Wrestlemania 38, which Reigns won as well. After, losing the last two bouts Lesnar finally looks to take his revenge against The Head of The Table at Summerslam next week. We often see in any rivalry that both the superstars are squared off against each other on several occasions to make build up to the final match.

But, it seems that WWE’s creative team has a different strategy in their minds this time. Popular wrestling critic and observer Dave Meltzer from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently discussed some interesting plans that the company has for the two superstars before their final clash at Summerslam. According to this the two superstars will make frequent appearances on television before The PPV but won’t face each other.

Meltzer reported “”The interesting main event strategy is that aside from the angle shot when Lesnar returned and laid out Reigns, it has been to keep the two apart. Unless plans change, the two will not be on the same in the entire last month of the build,”  He continued further by saying that it is unusual from WWE, that the champion will also not show up on the go-home show.

”Lesnar is advertised for Smackdown on 7/22 in Boston and 7/29 in Atlanta. Reigns is only advertised this week for the 7/25 Raw show in Madison Square Garden. One would think they would have Reigns in Atlanta for the Smackdown go-home show. Not only is he not advertised but as of a few times ago he was not planned for that show,” stated Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. WWE is projecting the Summerslam encounter as the last between these two, but as it is said anything and everything can happen in WWE, and one can expect surprises anytime.
