In 2020, Carmella returned to SmackDown with a new character, a glamorous and sophisticated persona. And began feuding with Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Although she did not win the championship, her new character was well received and showcased her versatility as a performer. Carmella has continued being involved in notable programs since her return. However, she had been sidelined and was off TV since August 2022.
Last week on Monday Night Raw, Carmella made her long-awaited return to the WWE ring. Following her return, Carmella recently shared her thoughts during her hiatus on WWE’s The Bump. Carmella said, “This is the longest I’ve ever been out, …I’ve never been out, never been injured in my 10 years with WWE…first time away.”
Carmella also addressed what was going through her mind before the return. She expressed the doubts she had regarding fans still remembering her and her ring awareness. Carmella stated, “So, I’m not gonna lie, I was a little worried. .. ‘Are people gonna remember me?… What am I going to do?”
The most notable moment during her return was the reaction of Corey Graves in the commentary. Graves has been married to Carmella since last year and was ecstatic about her return. Following her return, Carmella also emerged victorious in the fatal-4-way Elimination Chamber qualifying match.

Carmella will be a part of the women’s Elimination Chamber match this Saturday
When Carmella made her return last week on Raw, she was inserted in a fatal-4-way qualifying match. The match was for the opportunity to be a part of the women’s Elimination Chamber match this Saturday in Montreal. Carmella secured the victory by defeating Piper Niven, Candice LeRae, and “Michin” Mia Yim to punch her ticket for the chamber.
The women’s Elimination Chamber match is for the opportunity to challenge Raw women’s champion Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 39. Women who will be locked inside the barbaric structure are Asuka, Liv Morgan, Natalya, Raquel, Nikki Cross, and Carmella, as well.
As per the rumors, Asuka and Liv Morgan are considered the dark horses to walk out of the chamber victorious. However, Carmella, being the former women’s champion and the first-ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match winner, has a slight chance of delivering a major upset by winning the chamber match.
