“There’re kids in the crowd,” Chris Jericho reveals that he feared getting arrested for pedophilia in regards to a WWE segment

Chris Jericho is one of the most decorated wrestlers of all time. The Lionheart is one of the most popular WWE superstars of all time. The former WWE Superstar is often regarded as the ideal professional wrestler due to his outstanding in-ring abilities and verbal prowess.
Jericho has had an illustrious WWE career and was a multiple-time World Champion during his time in the company. Even though he isn’t a part of WWE anymore, he is well-remembered by fans for his character work. Be it comedic, or heelish segments, Jericho always performed them with conviction.
In 2002, Chris Jericho and Christian formed a tag team. The two even won the world tag team championship once by defeating Kane and Hurricane on October 14, 2002, edition of RAW. Jericho and Christian feuded with the different tag teams during that time. The Dudley Boyz were one such tag team with whom they competed at the time.
The WWE during the early 2000s was notorious for putting adult content in its product. One such segment from 2002 involved Chris Jericho and Christian. On one episode of RAW, they were robbed of their belongings by Dudley Boyz while they were in the shower. The two would search for their belongings in their towels everywhere backstage until realizing that Dudley Boyz had robbed them.
The Dudley Boyz called them out to get their belongings and threw their clothes in the crowd. After arguing with the Dudleys for a while, Spike Dudley sneaked in from behind and pulled their towels. This left them naked in front of the crowd, and they immediately ran backstage in shame.
Jericho has now spoken about the segment. During a recent interview with Inside the Ropes, Chris Jericho stated that he didn’t like the idea. He said that with the kids in the crowd, he feared getting arrested for being a pedophile. He stated that Michael Hayes then suggested Vince McMahon put a blurry censor over their private parts on TV.
“Are you f***ing kidding me?’ He goes, ‘Well, you don’t want to do it?’ I said, ‘Do you? I’m not a Chippendales dancer. There’re kids in the crowd. I’ll get arrested for being a pedophile….I am not standing naked in front of a crowd on Monday Night Raw……Alternatively, he pitched to Vince that the seamstresses could make skin-toned thongs and they could put a blurry censor over their midsection on TV.”

Chris Jericho calls himself the George Harrison of the Attitude Era
Chris Jericho was one of the vital figures of the attitude era. The Lionheart was influential in WWE’s success during the Attitude Era. Jericho became the first Undisputed World Champion in the Attitude Era. He won it by defeating The Rock and Steve Austin at the 2001 Vengeance PPV.
Back in 2020, during an interview with Jim Varsallone, Jericho stated that he was the George Harrison of the Attitude Era. He meant that George Harrison, being one of the greatest musicians and songwriters, was overshadowed as he was in the same band as Paul McCartney and John Lennon. He said that even though he was popular, he was never a top guy because he existed at the same time as The Rock and Steve Austin.
“What I mean by that is, George Harrison, one of the greatest song writers and musicians ever…only problem is, he’s in a band with John Lennon and Paul McCartney, the two greatest ever. I was a babyface in the Attitude Era, HUGE super popular, but I was a babyface along with The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. So I could never be the top guy there.”
Chris Jericho is currently enjoying his time with the AEW. Jericho recently lost the ROH World Championship to Claudio Castagnoli. He was also praised for putting over the young talent Action Andretti. He lost to Andretti at the Winter is Coming event.
