The notorious CM Punk chants were once again heard on WWE television this week. Amidst the blitzkrieg of unbridled speculation surrounding Punk’s arrival at Survivor Series, what unfolded on Raw might just be a tease of it. During Shinsuke Nakamura‘s bout against Akira Tozawa, the sold-out Mohegan Sun Arena started chanting CM Punk’s name.
Michael Cole tried his best on commentary to fizzle it down. However, for what it’s worth, the fans do know what’s there on November 25th. Despite the disagreement by credible media outlets, the WWE Universe still believes that Punk could return to the company after years of agony. Also, it needs to be studied why the crowd chanted what they did, especially during Nakamura’s match.
In recent weeks, the Japanese wrestler has done numerous vignettes in his mother tongue. He wants someone to unleash his untapped potential and set Shin free. In a pursuit to impress The Alpha Academy, Akira Tozawa took up the gauntlet and went against The King of Strong Style.
Despite some initial exploits, Tozawa was silenced by a menacing artist. It seems like squashing Tozawa is not something Shinsuke’s been looking for. Instead, he even laughed when asked whether putting his opponent away would satisfy him. That brings attention to the unreal theories swirling on the internet.
Though very unlikely, some fans believe that WWE is slowly building Shinsuke Nakamura for a major showdown, potentially with CM Punk at Survivor Series. If the King of Strong Style continues his warpath on Monday Night Raw in the coming weeks, things could get very interesting.
What’s said about CM Punk’s status with WWE?
Recently, a sparkling rumor set the wrestling fraternity on fire. BWE reported that CM Punk was recently scheduled for a call with WWE board members. That made the netizens cavort until Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful shot it down.
According to him, he spoke to top talent, a few higher-ups, and creatives in WWE, and none expected Punk to return at this point. However, if Punk were to return by Survivor Series, it would be a major surprise to the aforementioned entities. That should clear the air. Seemingly, WWE doesn’t want its fans to keep impractical expectations about CM Punk.
Anyway, the internet is all about chaos, and it has become quite the norm. Punk will attend APFC’s MMA event in Milwaukee just six days before the Survivor Series. Anything beyond that is mere speculation and might end up being false.
