The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and the Bloodline just got more personal. The Royal Rumble winner poured his heart out, talking about how important this match is for him. Cody stated how all the odds were stacked against him and that he had to finish the story, not for himself but for everyone.

On the latest episode of Raw, Michael Cole interviewed Cody Rhodes ahead of his match at WrestleMania. Upon asking what exactly his story is about, The American Nightmare delivered an emotional promo, which brought tears to the audience’s eyes.

Cody stated that the story is not just his story anymore; it has also involved his loved ones. He emotionally mentioned his mother and wife and said that they deserved to see him finish the story. Cody further added that although the story is beyond himself, to finish it or not, that’s up to him. He firmly said his final words to Roman Reigns, claiming that his title reign was now in the final innings.

The 38-year-old challenged The Rock for a one-on-one match anytime and anywhere he wanted at Elimination Chamber. The World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, backed him up by saying they would finish the Bloodline once and for all. However, The Great One had other plans for them. 

The ending of the story doesn’t look as simple as it does, due to the challenge The Rock presented in front of Cody and Seth. The duo agreed to have a tag team match with Rock and Roman in a high-stakes bout. If they win, the Bloodline will be barred from ringside. However, if they lose, the match between Cody and Roman will be Bloodline Rules, where anything goes.

Cody Rhodes cut a really emotional promo ahead of his big fight against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. However, before the segment on Raw, The American Nightmare recalled what happened last time when he gave an interview to Cole.

Cody took to X and subtly raised concerns about the interview, still remembering what had happened last time. When the second-generation star became Tag Team Champion with Jey Uso, they gave him an interview. The veteran commentator took a dig at him at the time, asking Cody about his failure to win the WWE Title, just like his father.

However, this time there was no animosity between the two, as Cody delivered the message to Roman in the clearest way. It will be interesting to see whether The American Nightmare finally finishes his story or if The Tribal Chief continues to reign supreme with The Bloodline.
