Cody Rhodes is at a point in his career where he cannot afford to take a step back, nor does he have the leverage to rest on his laurels. In a quest to finish the story with Roman Reigns, The American Nightmare has emboldened a whole lot of fans, some of whom are even battling cancer. Recently on X, Cody came across a fan’s battle with cancer and how he’s been a “perfect distraction” for the affected.

The fan named Millennial Smark detailed how cancer returned to haunt her in 2023, with its first instance tracing back to 2020. But she said that wrestling has been a very important distraction for her. The United Kingdom native elucidated how tantalizing it is to catch live action at 4 in the morning due to time zones playing a factor. But with Cody Rhodes at the forefront of WWE, Smark always has a smile on her face every time he’s on the screen.

She hoped Rhodes found a fitting end to his story, or else it would be gutting. At the end, by calling herself a part of the #WeWantCody movement, Millennial thanked Cody for helping her get through the most difficult phase of her life. After reading this, how could Rhodes have kept himself from replying?

Cody told Smark that he’s honored for being her distraction while asking the latter to keep up the fight. Just like her, a ton of wrestling fans want Cody Rhodes to finally dethrone Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. After all, it took over three days of making him trend on X to get Rhodes back his main event against The Tribal Chief.

Is Cody Rhodes appearing on this week’s SmackDown?

Tonight on SmackDown, The Rock will be there. WWE’s official preview listed on its website suggests that The Great One could respond to Cody Rhodes’ challenge for a match.

And guess what? The Prodigal Son is also being advertised for the show. In fact, Rhodes is scheduled to be appearing on three consecutive SmackDown episodes, the same as The Rock.

It’s now a huge possibility that Rhodes and Rock will come face-to-face tonight. Their confrontation has been long overdue ever since The Brahma Bull smacked Cody in the face at the WrestleMania XL presser in Las Vegas.

It would be interesting to see how Roman Reigns factors into his cousin’s beef with his WrestleMania singles opponent. And next Friday, all four proponents including The Rock, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins are being promoted for the show.
