WWE brought the Elimination Chamber to Perth, Australia on February 24th, and the event featured a unique Grayson Waller Effect segment. Despite some fans finding the segment underwhelming, it had a surprise twist with special guests Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. During the segment, The American Nightmare issued a challenge to The Rock.

Cody Rhodes engaged with the Perth audience, asking if there were any “Cody crybabies” present. He reiterated the question, aiming to energize the crowd. The American Nightmare then explained his decision to temporarily step back from the WrestleMania main event scene, only to reassert himself. He criticized The Rock, referring to him as The People’s Champion, but argued that true champions must be present for the people.

In a bold move, The American Nightmare announced that he was “wide open” for a match before WrestleMania’s main event. He issued a direct challenge to The Brahma Bull, expressing his desire to face him in a one-on-one match, regardless of the time or place. This challenge added an intriguing layer to The Bloodline saga, potentially setting the stage for a high-profile showdown between Cody Rhodes and The Rock.

Seth Rollins expressed admiration for Cody Rhodes’ animosity towards The Bloodline and decided to join the conversation. He pledged his support to The American Nightmare, promising that if The Rock accepted the challenge, he wouldn’t be fighting alone. However, the situation took a turn when Austin Theory interjected, impersonating The Brahma Bull. Rhodes and Seth swiftly took him out of the equation, unimpressed by his actions.

The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and The Rock

The rivalry between The Rock and Cody Rhodes has been intensifying as WrestleMania 40 approaches. The stage is set for a massive, two-night spectacle. The main event for night two is already confirmed to be Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes, allowing Rhodes the opportunity to finish his story.

However, night one is still in need of a main event match. It seems that The Rock and Roman Reigns will team up to take on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. While this is a significant match, it’s not the one The Brahma Bull originally wanted. The Rock had his sights set on facing his cousing one-on-one and made his intentions clear during the Day 1 episode of WWE RAW, calling his shot for WrestleMania 40.

Initially, WWE planned to use an injury angle to write Rhodes out of the match. However, they abandoned this plan due to the public outcry in support of The American Nightmare. The rivalry truly escalated when The Great One delivered a slap to the American Nightmare. As tensions continue to rise between The Rock and Rhodes, fans can expect a fierce and captivating showdown at WrestleMania 40.
