Though it took a month, Cody Rhodes has finally jettisoned the baggage off his shoulders. Back in Las Vegas, The American Nightmare got smacked across the face by The Rock. And last night on SmackDown, The Great One faced its repercussions. Once he claimed that Cody being 30 years apart from his siblings was a mistake, Rhodes slapped Rock. That took the broadcast off the air.
However, there was a lot that went down before Cody’s feel-good moment. The Rock and Roman Reigns were already out there for the scheduled face-off against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. The babyfaces, who duped the Nick Aldis-hired security, emerged from within the crowd. Once they got into the ring, it took a while for the boisterous ambiance to let it sink in. However, there were just hits following that.

Rock reiterated the stipulation that came with the proposed tag team match at WrestleMania. Rollins had enough of the Hollywood actor’s tantrums and asked him to shut up for once in his life. The Visionary even called the TKO board member a “mid-life crisis” as he accepted the challenge on Cody’s behalf. Roman Reigns chuckled at it and told Rhodes that he must be stupid to let Seth call the shots for him.
As stated above, the show was abruptly taken off camera as soon as The Rock ate that slap. However, various outlets on X claimed that the show was cut off much before that. As a result, certain markets were deprived of that closing shot that must’ve gratified Cody Rhodes.
What happened after The Rock got slapped on SmackDown?
After the unprecedented turn of events, how did The Rock react? Those watching at home were eagerly awaiting any post-show clip to pop on their feed. Fans in attendance were quick to latch on to their social media handles and update the wrestling fraternity as soon as they possibly could.

And guess what? A video clip shot directly after SmackDown went off air reveals that the Black Adam star did nothing. He was seen staring at Cody Rhodes. At most, the Seven Bucks Productions owner pointed a finger at his culprit.
And then The Rock and Roman Reigns strolled out of the ring. It might feel a tad anti-climatic, but there’s not much The People’s Champ could’ve done as it wasn’t being aired. But that segment did help set up the wrestler-turned-actor’s first WWE match in 8 years, that too at WrestleMania.
