Cody Rhodes is one of the most popular superstars in the WWE. In fact, the second-generation wrestler’s portrayal on screen shows why he is the current face of the company. Recently, Cody Rhodes announced that he will feature in Netflix’s upcoming anime series, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.
The American Nightmare wrote on his X account, “I went boom! Thanks @adishankarbrand for thinking of me and sliding me into your world, cheers to the next time!” The action anime will release on October 19 on the platform. As such, a character that is seemingly based on Cody’s looks with the hair and the “Dream” tattoo on his right pec as well.
However, he will not be voicing the character, as he is not on the list of cast members. Furthermore, the WWE star’s character won’t be playing a major role either, as proven by a scene in the trailer. Regardless of that, Cody Rhodes is slowly pushing towards a big name in mainstream media.
Currently, the American Nightmare is feuding with The Judgment Day on RAW. Since his huge victory against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, there hasn’t been much for Rhodes to do. During the Red Brand’s most recent episode, he seemingly teased avenging his WrestleMania 39 loss against Roman Reigns. Therefore, it automatically makes the 38-year-old the favorite to be traded to SmackDown.
Cody Rhodes headed towards the program with Drew McIntyre
The past few weeks on Monday Night Raw have been interesting. The arrival of Jey Uso on the Red brand has not been met well by superstars backstage, the most notable being Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Warrior hinted at dealing with the man who brought him in, Cody Rhodes.
On the latest edition of the show, Drew McIntyre addressed his recent actions during an episode of The Miz TV. Moreover, the host instigated McIntyre against Cody. Afterwards, the former defeated Kofi Kingston due to a distraction from the Viking Raiders’ Ivar.
Interestingly, the former WWE Champion walked away from the ring, leaving Kingston to be brutally attacked after the match. Drew McIntyre is slowly turning ‘heel’ and is angling towards a rivalry with Cody Rhodes. The pair will certainly deliver, given their in-ring talent and star power.
