Belief that Cody Rhodes won’t win the Royal Rumble Match
Cody Rhodes is one of the top babyfaces in the company right now. He is also speculated to win the Royal Rumble. However, a former WWE writer has stated why the company won't book him to win the Royal Rumble.

Cody Rhodes announced on the January 16th edition of RAW that he would be returning at the Royal Rumble. Fans are desperately anticipating Rhodes’ comeback, and it appears that the American Nightmare is just as eager to enter the ring. After giving the performance of his life at Hell in a Cell PLE last year, Rhodes began his recovery and has now returned after 7 months.
The initial time period was estimated to be 9 months, but it is because of Cody Rhodes’ determination and perseverance that he has managed to make his comeback at the Rumble. The vignette also featured Cody Rhodes undergoing his surgery for the torn pec with his wife Brandi Rhodes beside him.
Brandi Rhodes is seen saying that The American Nightmare is feeling better than ever. Rhodes also clarified his ultimate goal in the WWE, which is to be the World Champion. The American Nightmare, being one of the top babyfaces in the company, is likely to win the Royal Rumble.
Former WWE writer Vince Russo, on the other hand, believes Cody Rhodes will not win the Royal Rumble. During a recent edition of SK Wrestling: Legion of RAW, Vince Russo said that as Cody Rhodes hasn’t wrestled in a long time, the WWE would want to put him in some other storyline to make him ready for the big picture. Russo stated that they could pit the person who would eliminate him at the event against him in a storyline.
“I don’t think he’s gonna win the Royal Rumble. I think they want to get him in a program because he’s gonna have a lot of rust……he could be in a program with that guy, work with that guy, get all the ring rust out and then stop moving them up the ladder again.”

Hollywood actor confirms his appearance at the Royal Rumble to support Cody Rhodes
Hollywood actor Stephen Amell, who is an avid wrestling fan and has made several appearances in the company, has now announced that he will appear at the Royal Rumble. Amell posted a gif of Cody Rhodes on Twitter and wrote that he would be present at the event to support his favorite Cody Rhodes.
“I’m going to be in the house for the Royal Rumble… Why..? Because my guy is back.”
Amell and Cody Rhodes have worked with each other in the past. The two have fought against each other since Rhodes was involved in the stardust gimmick. Stephen Amell teamed up with Neville and defeated Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett in a tag team match at SummerSlam 2015.
