SmackDown commentator Corey Graves, who is a former wrestler himself, recently picked his next WWE megastar during this week’s After the Bell podcast. Although one may count the topic quite debatable, Graves was crisp and clear as he showered high praise on Austin Theory, despite the latter falling prey to worldwide embarrassment on Raw last week.

Without even hesitating, he named Austin Theory as the one. Although he spoke little, his vision for the company’s forthcoming standout was very solid. He mentioned how Theory hasn’t reached that level yet, but, digging in on his own knowledge of this business, Corey Graves showed his foresight in the 25-year-old.

Corey Graves emphasized Austin Theory’s latest actions on Raw this week. The once believed to be Vince McMahon’s protégé, in the weirdest of circumstances, cashed in for the US title against Seth Rollins, but resulted in a disaster.

“I believe in Austin Theory. I don’t believe he’s ‘that guy yet, but in my heart of hearts, as a nerd who’s spent way too much time studying the history of this business and watching it and loving it with all my being, I believe Austin Theory is the next megastar. And I think on Monday a lot of people started to believe as well.” (H/T – SeScoops)

On WWE Raw this week, Austin Theory gave a detailed explanation behind his failed MITB cash-in. He mentioned the impossible scenario involving an unstoppable Roman Reigns in the picture. Framing out the reality, he revealed how it wasn’t a good idea to even think of capitalizing on The Tribal Chief.

He then captivated over a much vulnerable entity. We saw how Bobby Lashley destroyed Seth Rollins before their US title match this week. An eagle-eyed Austin Theory saw the golden opportunity, and he cashed-in. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful thanks to an interference from Bobby Lashley.

Wrestling fans went on a furious strike after such a dubious conclusion to Theory’s MITB run. However, it’s still believed that Austin Theory would prosper more now. That being said, what Corey Graves said about Theory can be taken seriously. Also, the latter’s Selfie-freak gimmick seems to have met its Judgment Day, as we witnessed a much-determined self of Theory this week.
