With just over a month to go, WWE is making travel plans to Los Angeles. The company is set to present their 39th annual WrestleMania event under a Hollywood theme this year. Obviously, the card is shaping up nicely with storylines slowly beginning to pick up steam. However, the creative had much different ideas lined up for their Super Bowl of Sports Entertainment, until a month or two ago.
As reported by WrestlingNews.co behind their Patreon, WWE planned to have two separate World Championship matches in the respective main-events. For night 1, Cody Rhodes or Drew McIntyre were set to challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship. As for second night, Roman Reigns vs. The Rock was the plan for months, until The Black Adam star shared the word about his unavailability.
Moreover, due to aforementioned creative changes, McIntyre & Rollins are now heading into WrestleMania with a different route. The Scottish Warrior will seemingly challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship. After staring down The Ring General on this week’s SmackDown, the former WWE Champion issued a straightforward challenge on SmackDown Lowdown.
Coming onto The Visionary, he’s on tracks to rip apart Logan Paul at the Showcase of the Immortals. The Maverick cost Seth Rollins a sure-shot possibility to capture the US Title at Elimination Chamber. Following that on Raw, the Architect vowed to find the YouTube megastar and hurt him bad. The feud is expected to heaten up in the forthcoming weeks.

What are the currently planned main-events for WrestleMania 39?
Cody Rhodes is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for Sunday most probably. However, there’s still a lot of smoke & mirrors to decide what’s going to close out night 1 of WrestleMania. Internal belief suggests Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley is a strong contender to receive the honor.
But considering the growing popularity of Sami Zayn, many fans believe that he deserves that spot more than anyone else. If WWE moves forward with the latter, it’s going to be a historic night for everyone. As for reference, the former Honorary Uce’s rumored match involve his former best friend Kevin Owens.
They’re likely to settle their differences in the coming weeks to challenge The Usos for those Undisputed Tag Titles. If happens, this will be the first-ever Tag Team Championship main-event in WrestleMania’s history. Fans are in for one hell of a ride this fall. Triple H promises to deliver big with his first WrestleMania as creative spearhead.
