In a shocking turn of events, a major Disney franchise may not have Dwayne The Rock Johnson starring in it. As per reports surfacing online, the franchise may have ended all commercial ties with one of the biggest Hollywood stars of the modern era.
The Rock, along with some other big names, has been sued for $3 billion. This decision is an outcome of that lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges that Dwayne was one of the people who were involved in kidnapping the children of the plaintiff.
The Rock had recently announced at Disney’s Annual General Meeting that he would be once again playing Maui in the movie Moana. It was also planned for The Rock to play the new Jack Sparrow in The Pirates of the Caribbean. The chances for the same now seem dim.
For context, former Total Nonstop Action (TNA) star Trenesha Biggers (aka Rhaka Khan) has filed a 50-page lawsuit alleging The Rock, The Miz, Maryse, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, and dozens of others of conspiring to kidnap her and her children.
She also named the State of Texas, El Paso Child Protective Services, the FBI, Las Cruces, the New Mexico Police Department, and the NYPD, among others. The kidnapping attempts have been alleged to have happened somewhere between Khan’s WWE and early TNA days.
The Great One has seen some downturn in his commercial career since the release of the Black Adam movie. His ties with DC are already questionable. Whether The Rock’s recent Disney turmoil is a product of the lawsuit or some other reason is worth consideration. However, these are just reports and are yet to be confirmed by Dywane Johnson or his team.
Dwayne The Rock Johnson’s Career in Disney Movies so far
The Rock has been a part of about a dozen Disney movies so far. Most of the movies that he has starred in have been commercial successes. Many of the movies have even crossed the $1 billion mark in revenue.
Some of his most prominent movies include The Game Plan (2007), in which he played a football player and raised his daughter as a single parent. Race to Witch Mountain (2009), where he helped two siblings escape the government.
Other movies include Tooth Fairy (2010), Hercules (2014), Moana (2016), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), Rampage (2018), Jungle Cruise (2021), etc., among others. Overall, The Rock has had a successful career with Disney, and if this partnership gets affected by the lawsuit, it will be a massive blow to the former WWE Champion.
