After attaining the legendary status of being a Hall of Famer, a wrestler in WWE gets to enjoy their remaining time. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Rey Mysterio. For quite some time now, Mysterio must have started developing trust issues after Santos Escobar turned on him almost a year after his own son’s betrayal.

On SmackDown this week, Rey Mysterio battled his former protégé after weeks of altercations. Both LWO and Legado del Fantasma were banned from the ringside to avoid unnecessary distractions. Just when The Master of 619 was looking for victory, his son, Dominik Mysterio, appeared out of nowhere. “Dirty” Dom attacked and distracted his father, allowing Escobar to hit him with a 619 for the win.

The environment changed suddenly when the crowd started booing Dom. After the match, 26-year-old Superstar joined Santos Escobar to celebrate the victory. The Judgment Day member always finds a way to disrespect his father. For instance, he was seen sporting the legendary mask of The Biggest Little Man to distract him during the match.

Although Rey unwillingly defeated his son at WrestleMania 39 last year, it seems Dominik Mysterio always finds another way to interject himself in The Ultimate Underdog’s business. With WWE gearing up for a potential LWO vs. Legado del Fantasma at WrestleMania XL, The Latino Heat might have a huge role to play if the match indeed takes place.

Dominik Mysterio explains his actions by sending a message to Rhea Ripley

Recently, The Judgment Day faced off with Imperium on Raw. After the altercation, Rhea Ripley confronted her faction to question their actions. Later on, Dominik tried to sort things out with Mami. Now, it seems that the former 2-time NXT North American Champion wants to clear the air as to why he attacked Rey.

Moments after allying with Escobar, the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion took to X to explain his actions. He apologized to The Eradicator for attacking the 49-year-old legend and expressing his hatred towards him. Furthermore, he added a GIF explaining that it had to be done.

Mami will defend her Women’s World title against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania XL. Meanwhile, Finn Bálor and Damian Priest will defend their tag titles in a six-pack ladder match. Both JD McDonagh and Mysterio are currently absent from the match card. Moreover, McDonagh failed to secure an Intercontinental Championship match against Gunther. However, Dom seemingly has a WrestleMania direction following this week’s SmackDown.
