Everyone in the wrestling world loves and respects John Cena. The 16-time world champion has an in-ring career spanning more than two decades. So, whenever he has some advice to give to the up-and-coming stars, they receive it with the utmost respect. One such star who received valuable advice from him is Dominik Mysterio.
While talking on Keepin it 100 with Konan, Dominik Mysterio recounts that his first competition in front of a crowd was a dark match on SmackDown. It was a 6-man tag match with his dad Rey Mysterio and John Cena against the Bloodline (Roman Reigns and Usos). Dominik revealed in that conversation that John Cena gave him some crucial advice that helped him move forward.
Dominik said, “When I first started, there was no crowd. So I heard the audio reaction and I would hear my dad kind of just giving me pointers. But then once we went to a live crowd, my first live crowd match was with Cena and my dad against Roman [Reigns] and The Usos. So I had John in there just kind of guiding me and telling me like what to listen for, how to do it and when, whether we were in that moment or not. He would tell me what to listen for exactly.”
Dominik made his debut in WWE when the whole world was still in lockdown. Hence, there was no live audience allowed at that time. It would have been difficult for Dominik to make this transition from the Thunderdome era to the return of the live crowd, but working with John Cena and Rey Mysterio, who are at the top of their game, must have been helpful.
Dominik Mysterio’s recent run with The Judgment Day

Dominik turned on Rey Mysterio at Clash at the Castle last year after two years of accompanying his father to the ring and tagging along with him in matches. He hit his dad with a brutal clothesline and joined the Judgment Day, with whom they had been feuding for the past couple of months.
Dominik received a complete character change and got a darker makeover, influenced by his new friends. He soon became an ultimate heat magnet, getting booed by the crowd every week as he kept interfering in his father’s matches. As Rey Mysterio moved to SmackDown, the feud subsided for some time.
However, recently we saw Dominik visiting his father’s house over the holidays with his kayfabe girlfriend, Rhea Ripley, and beating him up. Dominik even got arrested in the storyline for doing so. This gave his character a new edge where he tries to look more like a hardened criminal. In a recent episode of Raw, the fans saw Judgment Day win a tag team turmoil match, earning the chance to face the Usos for the Raw tag team titles.
