Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley are promoting the upcoming February PLE, Elimination Chamber, in Australia. As a result, the Judgment Day duo is currently indulging in media appearances and talk shows. In fact, the third-generation superstar was hilariously asked how he didn’t have trouble getting into Australia given his past criminal record.

While speaking on Hit WA’s Allan & Carly radio show, the pair mentioned that airport security had singled out Dominik. According to the 26-year-old, the officials suspected him due to his mullet and tattoos. Furthermore, Dom revealed that they let him go after he pointed out his profession. The authorities allegedly did not believe him at first until they saw Rhea Ripley.

During the father-son rivalry this year, Dominik attacked Rey Mysterio during their family’s Thanksgiving. As a result, the Judgment Day star faced criminal charges and spent time in prison. The entire angle played a crucial part in building Dominik Mysterio’s character, as he eventually competed against Rey at WrestleMania.

The two-time North American Champion has had a career-defining 2023. Shawn Michaels heaped praise on Dominik, calling him the “MVP” of the year. Without a doubt, he is one of the most hated men on the main roster, garnering heat and negative reactions. Moreover, Dom’s in-ring work has evidently improved throughout the course of the year.

Dominik Mysterio’s NXT run possibly over

Dominik Mysterio’s reign as North American Champion came to an end at NXT: Deadline. The 26-year-old lost against Dragon Lee, who shared a wholesome moment with the former’s father, Rey Mysterio. However, many fans were surprised when the Judgment Day member didn’t rally for a rematch for the title.

On the most recent episode of NXT, Dominik was notably absent during the tapings. Therefore, it has led to a lot of speculation regarding the third-generation star’s status on the Gold brand. After winning the championship, Lee proceeded to kickstart open challenges, even defeating Tyler Bate in Wednesday’s edition.

Perhaps this might signal the end of Dominik’s run on NXT. At the moment, he and the Judgment Day are feuding with the #1 contenders for the Tag Team Titles, Creed Brothers. Also, “Dirty” Dom is scheduled to face CM Punk in the latter’s return bout. Therefore, the pair might be headed towards an on-screen rivalry as well.
