“It’d be insane to change the formula”- Drew McIntyre gives a honest take on working under the Triple H regime
Drew McIntyre in WWE
Drew McIntyre is one of the most decorated WWE Superstars ever to have graced the squared circle. Drew McIntyre’s rise to the top during his second run is really commendable. Just two years after his re-debut, he managed to win the Royal Rumble and defeat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 to win the WWE Championship for the first time in his career.
Drew McIntyre has had two reigns as the WWE Champion, and his latest attempt to win the World Championship was at the Clash at the Castle Live event. Drew lost the Championship due to interference from Roman’s cousin, Solo Sikoa.
Drew McIntyre recently told the Dallas Morning News that he is prepared to defeat Roman Reigns‘ whole family in order to compete against Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. He asserted that in order to beat every member of the family, he would have to knock on their doors. Drew claimed that defeating The Rock at his own door would be tough for him since he admires the rock and that it would be the only way to force Roman to give up the title.
Drew McIntyre doesn’t feel there is a change in the backstage after Vince McMahon’s departure
Currently, The Scottish Warrior is involved in a feud with Karrion Kross and is set to face him at the Extreme Rules premium live event. McIntyre vs. Kross would be an exciting bout to see and would be a treat for the crowd.
The Booking of wrestlers and the quality of the show has been much improved since Triple H’s appointment as Creative head of the company. Meanwhile, Drew McIntyre says the backstage environment hasn’t altered much, and it wouldn’t be appropriate to alter the strategy that has helped WWE achieve such success.
“I mean, backstage things really haven’t changed that much. People think it was like this drastic change all across the board. You know, WWE was so successful prior to Hunter taking the reigns it’d be insane to change the formula that’s worked and made WWE to the point where we’ll get five stadium shows a year and doing such incredible business and records and profits.”
The Extreme Rules Live Event will take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
