Back in 2020, when Braun Strowman was a part of the company, he said in an interview that he would only wrestle for the WWE until his retirement, no matter what. Strowman, being a man of his word, didn’t join any other promotion when he was released from the company and did his own thing, which was that he created his own promotion with former WWE Superstar EC3. The Monster recently said that he was disheartened when he was released from the company and that his release was a hard pill to swallow for him.

When asked who he would like to feud with next in a recent interview with My San Antonio, McIntyre responded that he would like to feud with anyone who stands in his way, but that he has always wanted to feud with Braun Strowman. According to Drew McIntyre, their bout would be entertaining and engaging, and his rivalry with Strowman would be captivating. He said that they are both two men who have made a return and want to reprove themselves.

“Anyone who gets in my way, to be honest. But I’ve always wanted to have a feud with Braun (Strowman). It is a simple story to tell with two big guys. But there is more depth to it than that. The visual of Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman. I am 6-foot-5, 275 and he makes me look like a smaller guy. How exciting and impressive that match would be? But I also know how the story could be compelling. You have two superstars who got let go from the company only to come back and try to reprove themselves,”

The Extreme Rules Live event will take place on October 8th at Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
