Dwayne Johnson‘s return on SmackDown to step over Cody Rhodes continues to have its dominoes. With well-acknowledged fan outrage on social media, The American Nightmare is getting all the support he needs right now. However, the saddest part of them all is that Johnson’s daughter, Ava Raine, has received death threats amid reports of her dad sabotaging Cody’s story.
This is a condemnable act. Taking it to her X account, Rained posted how some lunatic nincompoops have bombarded her with advances to kill the NXT General Manager. Of course, it’s a sad state of affairs when one knows that The Rock’s daughter has nothing to do with the hubbub encompassing her father’s WrestleMania involvement. Nonetheless, WWE has something up their sleeves, it appears.
Dave Meltzer of WON has reported that the company was hoping for Cody Rhodes to turn into this era’s Daniel Bryan coming out of last week’s segment. Also, he noted that Johnson potentially wrestling Roman Reigns at WrestleMania was part of the deal that saw him assume charge as one of the directors of TKO’s board.

Despite the uptick in outcry, WWE still plans to stage the long-awaited dream match in Philadelphia. However, they may need to be extremely careful with the handling of Cody Rhodes moving forward. His direction is under wraps, and Rhodes is in a tough place right now. A week ago, Cody won the Royal Rumble match for the second consecutive year. And now he’s in a state where he casually handed Roman Reigns over to his Hollywood cousin.
How the fans on Raw reacted to Dwayne Johnson?
This week’s Raw was always going to be one of the most anticipated shows in recent memory. After making Cody Rhodes the #1 trend on X for the past 72 hours, the allegiance of WWE fans was at stake. And guess what? They did not disappoint.
No dichotomy was spotted between the reaction The Rock has been getting online since snubbing Rhodes and how the crowd in the arena reacted to it. The “WeWantCody” chants were in full effect even before Raw went live.
Not only that, but a plethora of signboards reflecting the backing for Rhodes completely set the tone. Once Seth Rollins even mentioned SmackDown, the crowd would boo heavily. Several “Rocky Sucks” chants rang out, with Michael Cole wondering whether it was 1996 all over again.
Once Cody made his way out, the St. Louis crowd was fully behind him. And finally, Drew McIntyre pleaded with Rhodes to finish his story rather than even considering challenging Seth Rollins at WrestleMania.
