Many superstars have emerged as megastars in WWE over the last few years. There have been many polarising figures in the company. The “fan-made” superstars are rare on the list. Years later, WWE is yet again on the path to witness another fan-made star in the form of Sami Zayn.
On the latest podcast of After 83 Weeks, WWE legend Eric Bischoff praised Sami Zayn and said that he has plenty of talent. Bischoff added that the way Zayn has developed his character in recent months is just incredible. He referred to the former NXT star as a “fast horse” who fits into any storyline and draws the attention of the fans. “I like Sami Zayn a lot. The great thing about a really fast horse is you can slow a fast horse down. But when you’ve got a slow horse, you can’t make it run fast,” he said.
Sami Zayn, who has been a part of the bloodline in recent times, has emerged as a fan favorite. When Zayn started appearing with the Bloodline on segments on SmackDown, no one expected much of him. However, the Honorary Uce made it work better than anyone could have ever expected. He got extremely over with the crowd. Zayn has been a key part of one of the greatest storylines fans are seeing in WWE history.
WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff said that there was a time when nobody wanted to work with him. Furthermore, he said Zayn no longer carries the utility player tag. “To see him just so flawlessly as a character work himself in a way that makes him one of the more interesting things in that entourage,” he added.
The WWE Legend believes that without Sami Zayn, the storyline wouldn’t have worked. It’s the story of a man who wanted to be a part of a family that would treat him with respect. For the majority of his career, he’s been an outsider. Nobody liked him or saw value in him until Roman Reigns. Now he finally felt accepted. Everything was great until he witnessed the pure evil in the Tribal Chief at the Royal Rumble 2023.

Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn at the Elimination Chamber
At the Royal Rumble, Sami Zayn’s final test required him to be the one to assault his former best friend. Reigns was unhappy with the hesitation. The fans saw that Sami has a soul and has some empathy for Owens. Despite being surrounded by such evil energy, he still had some good in him. After enduring beratement, the Honorary Uce turned on Reigns and stood up for himself and his friend. That might have been the loudest reaction from the WWE Universe in recent years. 50,000 people were screaming as loudly as possible. The bloodline imploded as Sami Zayn betrayed Roman Reigns. As a result, Zayn was destroyed, and Jey Uso was left emotionally broken.
On the recent episode of SmackDown, Reigns was addressing the WWE Universe when Sami Zayn attacked him from behind. He delivered a picture-perfect spear to the Tribal Chief. Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa came to the rescue, and the Bloodline ambushed Zayn. The Trible Chief attacked him mercilessly with multiple chair shots. Reigns challenged him at the Elimination Chamber for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. He stated that he intends to decimate him in front of his entire family and his home crowd in Montreal.
The match between Reigns and Zayn at the Elimination Chamber would be full of surprises and twists. It’s likely that Kevin Owens would be involved in it. As a result, it might lead up to a match between The Usos and Owens & Sami for the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania39. The fans believe this is long-term storytelling. They have never been so glued to the TV screen. It would be interesting to see what the future holds for Sami Zayn at the Elimination Chamber.
