Matt Riddle was one of the best things going on in 2022 as part of RK-Bro. But when Randy Orton was forced out of action due to an injury, slowly it all went downhill for the Original Bro. Subsequently, he was released in September after the WWE-UFC merger. As his non-compete clause ended, Riddle announced his return to professional wrestling.
Major League Wrestling announced on X that Riddle has joined the company and will fight in a first-time-ever match with Jacob Fatu, a man who has been dominating the division. They will fight on January 6 in Philadelphia. An interesting fact is that Jacob is a real-life cousin of the Bloodline members, Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso.
After Randy’s injury, the Original Bro was still involved in a few good rivalries and even formed a temporary tag team with Drew McIntyre. However, he was not seen on any programs or backstage after the incident at JFK airport. He was shortly released by WWE after making his last TV appearance on the September 4th episode of Raw.
Now, after two months’ absence, he will be back fighting again in MLW. It will be interesting to see whether Riddle ever returns to WWE or not. Only time will tell what the future holds for him.
Fans react to the announcement of Matt Riddle joining MLW and fighting Jacob Fatu
Matt Riddle joined MLW after a 2-month hiatus after getting released by WWE. The reason for his release was that he reportedly ‘burned through too many chances’. When the announcement was made official that Riddle had joined MLW and would be fighting Jacob Fatu, fans didn’t stop expressing their brutal opinions on this fight.
The majority of the fans hilariously mocked Riddle for still going after ‘The Bloodline’, as Jacob is a cousin of the Usos, making him a real-life member of the faction. Meanwhile, some of the fans criticized the wrestling promotion by saying nobody wanted to see the match.
One fan said it wouldn’t draw the numbers as they are not that big stars, while another fan was quite happy and said it would be an amazing match, as there is no doubt Riddle and Jacob are both fantastic wrestlers in-ring.
Some fans mocked Riddle, referencing his failed drug test when he violated the wellness policy multiple times. Overall, fans’ reaction was pretty negative about this match, as they made fun of it by saying it was nobody’s ‘dream match’. It will be interesting to see what’s next for the Original Bro.
