Rey Mysterio has been giving countless emotional tributes to the late great Eddie Guerrero, but his nephew is not too pleased with the exploitation of his uncle's name.

Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero had a close relationship both on and off-screen. They were not only great friends but also long-time wrestling partners who shared many memorable moments together in the ring. The bond between Rey and Eddie began in the 1990s, and they worked together for major wrestling promotions going forward. In November 2005, an unfortunate event occurred, when Eddie Guerrero sadly passed away due to a cardiac arrest behind closed doors.

After Guerrero’s passing, Rey Mysterio dedicated many of his matches and victories to his friend’s memory, even until now. Their relationship remains a beloved part of wrestling history. Recently, WWE reformed the classic faction, LWO, in memory of Eddie Guerrero. However, despite many people liking the idea, Eddie’s family members are not too pleased with it.

During the digital signing with Captain’s Corner, Chavo Guerrero Jr. lashed out at Rey Mysterio for constantly using Eddie Guerrero’s name in the name of tributes. He said that we all love Eddie but why Rey has to his name to put over a faction? Chavo also accused the new LWO of stealing Los Guerrero’s gimmick.

“I say no dude. I’m tired of people — and this is not a bitter thing, this is the truth. We worked hard for that last name. This whole family worked really, really hard to get that name to where it was and we’re tired of people prostituting it in a sense and using it for their benefit,” Chavo further stated.

He also stated how no one knows Rey Misterio Sr. so Rey has to latch on to the Guerrero family. Chavo concluded by thanking Rey for keeping Eddie’s name alive but also clarified that the Guerrero family doesn’t need him anymore.

Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio have a long history, that also involved Eddie Guerrero. Their feud began in WWE in 2004 when Chavo turned on Mysterio and attacked him after a match. This led to a series of matches between the two, including a memorable match at the Great American Bash in 2004.

On being asked whether he wants to step inside the squared circle for another match against The Master of the 619, Chavo gave a candid answer. Chavo indirectly refused the idea, saying, “… I don’t think Rey could hold a candle to me right now to be honest”.
