This past Monday, Jerry “The King” Lawler was hospitalized following a stroke while he was at his condo in Fort Myers, Florida. Following his tweet, Mantell provided more details on Lawler’s condition on Twitter. Mantell tweeted, “LAWLER experienced paralysis on his right side immediately following the stroke. He’s obviously weak but I could understand his affected speech.

Jerry Lawler, also known as “The King”, suffered a heart attack on September 10, 2012, during a live broadcast of WWE Monday Night Raw. The attack occurred while he was on the commentary with Michael Cole after a tag-team match with Randy Orton against CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler. It was initially thought to be part of the performance. However, the situation quickly escalated when Lawler fell to the ground and was unable to get back up.

Medical personnel rushed to the ring and performed CPR on Lawler, who was later transported to a nearby hospital. The WWE immediately suspended the broadcast and went on a commercial break, and the rest of the show was dedicated to updates on Lawler’s condition.

Lawler was placed in a medically induced coma and underwent a procedure to clear a blocked coronary artery. Lawler was eventually released from the hospital and made a full recovery, returning to the show just two months later.

Lawler’s heart attack served as a wake-up call for many professional wrestlers, who frequently lead high-stress and physically demanding lives. The incident prompted the WWE to launch a new wellness program aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing similar incidents from occurring in the future.
