The WWE Universe is currently witnessing a roster of dominant champions. The Intercontinental Champion Gunther is one of them. He has become the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in the history of WWE. He recently appeared on the Insight podcast by Chris Van Vliet, where he was asked about his celebrating style after significant milestones.

The Ring General explained how he is aware of the laurels he receives due to his in-ring performance. However, he believes it’s not the time to bask in its glory. Moreover, Chris Van Vliet asked him whether he performed any celebrations on the night he crossed the historical title reign of the Honky Tonk Man.

While Gunther did hesitate to answer it, he talked about how the celebration with fireworks and crowds within the arena was quite grand. He revealed that he didn’t do anything on a personal level, as he had to catch a flight at 6 a.m. He added that things operate differently on a professional level.

I like to celebrate personal things and all, but professional is different. We gotta put in the work, so later I have enough time in my life to celebrate it over and over again. Yeah, it's like smoking a cigar, having a drink, and being close to the people very important to you. That is very important.

Additionally, he explained that personal events are something that he looks forward to celebrating. His celebration depends on the occasion and might involve either smoking a cigar or simply drinking with the close ones around him. He emphasized being with the important people in his life.

On the other hand, in the case of professional work, he believes he needs to first put in the work. He considers that he has the rest of his life to look back on them and celebrate. Gunther is one of those superstars who has drawn a fine line between personal life and professional life.

Fans are constantly witnessing reigns that extend more than a year and that started ever since Roman Reigns captured the Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2020. Gunther was asked about his views regarding the same.

I think it's very important. We have a weekly program. I don't even know if any other entertainment company faces the same challenge as WWE does with bringing on, let's say, innovative content, week by week, that keeps the people hooked.

The Ring General seems appreciative of the long storytelling programs. He believes that it is crucial to keep people hooked on the product. Unlike any other entertainment product, he finds professional wrestling delivered by WWE to be something that demands constant innovation.

Gunther also talked about how adding physical action to it is something that people don’t see in TV shows. The high risk of getting people injured or absent for multiple reasons makes it more tricky.
