Roman Reigns has come a long way in his WWE career. The fans remember Reigns being a part of the popular faction “The Shield” when he debuted as a rookie. The Tribal Chief’s career saw a saddening phase in 2018 when he announced that he had leukemia. It was probably one of the most emotional segments in WWE history and really broke the hearts of fans.
That was when Roman Reigns first revealed his real name and went on to give an emotional speech about his condition. He relinquished the WWE Universal Championship and promised the WWE Universe to come back after beating his cancer. Roman Reigns kept his promise and has now been the WWE Universal Champion for over 1000 days.
Recently, on the Impaulsive podcast with Logan Paul, Roman Reigns revealed how he got to know he had leukemia. He shared that he was 22 at the time and that his wife was pregnant with their baby when they discovered it for the first time. They went to the lab and learned about his condition from the doctors. In fact, the doctors suggested it could be an infection or even cancer.
Roman Reigns was an NFL player during that time. That shocking news completely broke him, as well as his wife. It was kind of obvious since he was just about to become a father and had received such tragic news. The WWE Universe got to know why Roman Reigns is such a strong guy inside and out. Speaking with Logan Paul, Reigns referred to that incident and that moment as his introduction to manhood.
But the good part is that Roman Reigns battled leukemia bravely and came back stronger. In fact, he did this twice. Besides, the WWE Universe always had his back, and supported the 38-year-old throughout his journey. Since his return to WWE, Reigns has truly been unstoppable. He has defeated almost every prominent name in the WWE locker room and has been a dominant force.
