The Rock is rumored to face Roman Reogns in the main event of WrestleMania 39 for a long time now. WWE has reportedly planned some changes for the first-time-ever match.

Months have passed since rumors of Roman Reigns facing the Rock at WrestleMania 39 surfaced the internet. Since then, fans have been very excited for a potential match between the two which could end up determining the real Tribal Chief and could also add a huge accolade to both of the established superstars’ careers. 

However, the excitement of fans dropped down when reports claimed that Roman Reigns vs the Rock will be for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. This felt like a spoiler that Roman Reigns will defeat the People’s Champion and send him back to Hollywood making it one of the greatest moments in his illustrious career.

Though the match is almost confirmed now changes are coming in for WrestleMania 39. Reportedly, Roman Reigns will now be stripped off the WWE Championship and will head into WrestleMania 39 as the Universal Champion only. This would lead to a huge change in the main event of the Grandest Stage of them All.

As per reports, a tournament will then determine the new WWE Champion and the finals will reportedly take place on Day 1 of WrestleMania 39. This could change the landscape of both Raw and SmackDown given both brands will have world champions rather than only one having both.

After the WWE Championship is stripped off the Tribal Chief, Monday Night Raw will potentially get a new champion and the SmackDown roster will continue to collide for the Universal Championship. With the main event of Day 1 of WrestleMania 39 rumored to host the finals for the WWE Championship tournament, a new champion’s throne would likely be the beginning of a new era. 

Among various stars, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, Cody Rhodes, and Finn Balor are the most likely stars to win the tournament. However, with rumors of Bobby Lashley moving to Friday Night SmackDown following WrestleMania 39, his win may not be in the picture. Drew McIntyre and Finn Balor being tag team stars currently a world championship victory looks far from them right now. 

Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes are rumored to face each other at WrestleMania 39. This would be the probable match where the WWE Championship will be on the line and a new era will usher following the 39th edition of the Grandest Stage of them All.
