Jake Roberts recalls the conversation with Vince McMahon that his counterparts disliked.

Bulging egos and periodic donnybrooks best described WWE’s backstage ambience back in the day. An embodiment of which can be traced to Jake “The Snake” Roberts‘ recent revelations. On his podcast, The Snake Pit, the 68-year-old discussed a meeting he had with Vince McMahon. And for what it’s worth, once Jake was done with it, he felt as if it piqued his peers in WWE.
The said tête-à-tête was staged as McMahon had an idea for Jake. When the latter sat down with Vince, the former WWE CEO pitched having Roberts dressed up in neon green and purple tights. However, at that point in time, the Hall of Famer was robustly against it. He felt it would’ve been an antithesis to the sadistic persona he had reserved for the audience. But then McMahon offered him payloads of money.

And, of course, Jake Roberts couldn’t turn it down. After that, The Snake also got to have a ride back to WWE in Vince’s limousine. Recalling what it was like walking backstage after his lucrative talks with Vince McMahon, Roberts felt he engendered resentment among his peers.
I just looked at that million dollars and said 'F**k yeah. Right off the bat, I felt jealousy. I felt that. Guys going 'Oh, my God, he's coming in. They wanted to know if I was going to be babyface or a heel. I said 'I'm going to be a heel.' The babyfaces were happy, but the heels weren't!Jake Roberts via Snake Pit (h/t: Wrestling Inc)
Most of them seemed worried about potentially playing second fiddle to Jake and asked what role McMahon had asked him to play. Roberts said he was going to be a bad guy. As a result, the babyfaces were relaxed, but the heels weren’t. That’s how Jake learned his colleagues became jealous of him.
What Tony Khan had to say about vile allegations against Vince McMahon?
It still feels surreal to realize that Vince McMahon has been axed from WWE. On the heels of recent allegations that shook the entire core of WWE, McMahon had to resign. AEW CEO Tony Khan was also asked to offer his thoughts on the Janel Grant lawsuit.

In response, Tony said he couldn’t comment on the horrific allegations at the moment. Instead, he glorified having a support system in place at AEW. Moreover, he assured that he would nurture a healthy backstage environment in his company.
Khan, too, found himself in deep waters back in late December, when similar accusations pierced Chris Jericho. However, by calling them unsourced internet rumors, the Jaguars owner didn’t feel the need to dig deep.
