Not too much of a surprise, that Cody Rhodes has been one of WWE’s leading merchandise sellers over the last year or so. The fans simply adore him, and Rhodes is incredibly popular among children as well. Cody once again topped the chart for selling the highest amount of generic WWE merchandise in September. However, in the home stretch of the month, Cody faced some stiff competition in the form of ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso.

Fightful Select is reporting that Jey Uso moved a ton of those accessories toward the end of September. WWE sources confirmed to the outlet that he did ‘exceptionally well’ and the higher-ups are happy with their decision to position him away from The Bloodline. Cody and Jey are the two most popular babyfaces in the company right now. Last night at Fastlane, they pipped Finn Balor and Damian Priest to become the new Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

Despite the endless shenanigans courtesy of Rhea Ripley and JD McDonagh, Jey held his nerve, and Cody assured that the opportunity did not slide away. That said, they have to now appear on both Raw and SmackDown until WWE decides to split the tag titles. Jey Uso’s trade to Raw has already met widespread acclaim from the WWE Universe, and it continues to progress in that direction.

About a month ago, who on the entire God’s green earth would’ve imagined that Cody Rhodes would become a Tag Team Champion with Jey Uso? While being under Roman Reigns‘ tutelage, Jey used to be hungry for Cody’s downfall. It’s funny how time changes things, and two of the former worst enemies are now holding the gold together.

What’s next for Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso?

After pulling off an enormous feat at Fastlane, one would imagine what’s next for Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. Will Judgment Day come for redemption, or have they stopped messing around? The answer to that question ain’t that far away, as tonight’s Monday Night Raw edition will put an end to those queries.

Apart from Judgment Day, there are a lot of viable challengers for the newly crowned duo. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn never got an opportunity to regain their tag team titles since dropping them to Balor and Priest at Payback. So, they could pose a valid argument and might be next in line.

Apart from that, the rebirth of DIY (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano) opens the door for more elbow room. It’s totally up to WWE as to how they see Cody and Jey working as a cohesively knit unit. There are a lot of first-time matchups that can be done over the upcoming months.
