“Would he go that far,” Wrestling veteran comments on rumors about The Rock forcing WWE to recently rehire 3-time WWE Champion after release
Jim Cornette thinks that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might have a hand in bringing back Nia Jax, who was rehired by WWE after being released in 2021.

The wrestling internet melted down when Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made his surprise return to WWE for the first time in almost four years. However, The Rock was not the only Samoan to return to WWE that week. Nia Jax made her shocking return to WWE on that week’s episode of Raw. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Cornette thinks that the two reunions might be related to each other as the Jax and The Rock come from the same family.
While talking on his podcast, Cornette was asked if The Rock had any connection to the rehiring of Nia Jax. To this end, he said, “I don’t know would he [The Rock] go that far for one particular family member. Or is it just that they thought they got an idea? [See, that’s the thing, would The Rock help someone if there wasn’t a camera there to film him doing it?] Well, you say tomato and I say tomato.”
Cornette expressed uncertainty about whether The Rock would go to such lengths to assist a family member, questioning the sincerity of his charitable acts and suggesting they were only done for public attention. He criticized Nia Jax’s recent run, citing her poor promo skills and nonsensical matches, and doubted that The Rock would intervene to bring her back to WWE.
After working for the company for seven years, WWE released Nia Jax from her contract in late 2021. During her first run, she won the Raw Women’s Championship once and the tag team championships twice with Shayna Baszler.
Becky Lynch talks about working with The Rock
The Rock returned to WWE for the first time in almost four years last week. The last time The Great One was on WWE TV was in 2019 when he took down Baron Corbin with Becky Lynch. Therefore, while talking on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Becky Lynch answered questions about her experience working with The Rock.
She said, “I mean, look, when you’re working with Dwayne, it’s, well, one, it’s so easy because anything you do gets a reaction, and he’s so good, and he’s so in tune with the energy of everyone, the entire universe. I think you can see that by how he’s just taken over the world. But he also makes everybody feel so comfortable.”
Lynch has been killing it on NXT, as she won the NXT Women’s Championship a few weeks ago. She defeated Tiffany Stratton to win the title and defeated her again at No Mercy in a brutal match. The two got acclaim for the match from a lot of fans and fellow wrestlers.
