Whenever one talks of Kurt Angle, an image of talent is created in the eyes of the viewers. The Olympic gold medalist is regarded as one of the best players across the globe in the world of professional wrestling. Known for his great wrestling style, he is currently spending time making multiple appearances in WWE.
Kurt Angle has been in the wrestling industry for over 2 decades. He was adjudged as the winner in the freestyle wrestling of 1996 Olympics that took place in Atlanta, United States. The former WWE Champion is also a part of the WWE Hall Of Fame.
If we consider today’s scenario, WWE and Hollywood have a lot of connection between them. A lot of superstars from the company have made their way to Hollywood and similarly, Hollywood celebrities have expressed their desire to face the WWE Superstars.
Recently, Kurt Angle also revealed that wanted to make his Hollywood debut but was not able to do so for some reasons. He was in a podcast where he revealed that he was supposed to play the lead role in the movie ‘Pearl Harbor.’

Kurt Angle was being offered a major role in Hollywood
Kurt said that Vince did not allow him to leave the company for Hollywood. “I was one of the leading roles. They wanted me and WWE said no. It was Pearl Harbor. It was a guy that was the hero that died at the end. I didn’t see the movie, but I was told who it was gonna be,” Kurt said.
He also expressed his understanding of the situation back at that time. The Rock had left the wrestling industry for Hollywood and that had a massive effect among the audience. Vince McMahon didn’t want any other superstar to do the same. He put everyone in lockdown.
Kurt said that Vince did not allow any other wrestler do anything beyond the WWE industry thinking that they too would leave. WWE became a controlling company and the superstars had no choice but to follow them. It was only after 5 – 6 years that the control loosened and superstars such as John Cena, Batista and the Edge entered Hollywood.
Vince McMahon is now retired from the company and a lot has changed since then. Triple H is quite open and free and gives the freedom to the wrestlers to express themselves unlike McMahon. It is under his reign that WWE Women’s Champion from both the divisions are soon expected to make their Hollywood debut. Had it been Vince’s reign, it might not have been possible.
