Kurt Steven Angle well known around the world as Kurt Angle is an Olympic Gold Medallist who has had illusturious career in pro wrestling working for companies like WWE and TNA. Kurt Angle started wrestling at the age of 7 and went on to win numerous medals at collegiate level winning the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship. Angle also won a Gold Medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics with a broken neck. After his win at the Olympics Angle decided to pursue a career in pro wrestling and joined Extreme Championship Wrestling in 1996 for only one episode where he did commentary.

Kurt Angle signed a five year contract with WWE in 1998 which saw him move to World Wrestling Alliance which was WWE’s developmental territory at the time. Angle made his main roster debut in 1999 at Survivor Series and defeated Shawn Stasiak in his first match. In 2000 Angle won the European Championship and Intercontinental Championship in the same month. Soon after Angle found himself in the WWE Championship picture where he feuded with the likes of Triple H , Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Rock. Kurt Angle  defeated The Rock to win the WWE Championship and became the only wrestler in history to win the Olympic Gold Medal and WWE Championship.

Kurt Angle during his time in WWE was one of the best performers for the company and also one of the highest paid talents in the company. During his time in the WWE Kurt Angle managed to win WWE Championship 6 times ,United States and Intercontinental Championship 1 time became the 5th Grandslam Champion in WWE history.

In 2006 following his release Kurt Angle signed for Total Nonstop Action. He made his TNA debut the same year when he confronted Samoa Joe in his first appearance. Kurt Angle spent 10 years with TNA and during his time in TNA managed to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship 6 times TNA World Tag Team Championship twice and the TNA X Division Championship once making him a Triple Crown Champion in the process.

When Angle signed for TNA it opened a probability for a new set of matches for the wrestling machine. Angle during his time in TNA had memorable feuds with the likes of Samoa Joe, Sting, AJ Styles just to name a few. In a recent interview with Steve Fall of NBC Sports Boston,Angle was asked about his time in TNA and his feud with AJ Styles:

“The reason why it is not my favorite is because not a lot of eyeballs got to see it. Don’t get me wrong, TNA had their fanbase you know but it wasn’t nearly as big as WWE’s but I was still really proud of my career in TNA. I thought I had a better career there than in WWE especially wrestling AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Stinger, Bobby Roode.”  

Kurt Angle after his time in TNA returned to WWE and wrestled his last match against Happy Corbin. Although Angle and Styles were together in WWE, the company didn’t book the two in match leaving fans to wonder what could have been.
