“Hell Yeah,” 40-year old WWE superstar would love to face ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin at WrestleMania 39
Steve Austin has been thrown a shout-out at by a top SmackDown name. According to the latter, he'd absolutely love to square off against The Texas Rattlesnake.

Steve Austin passed his prime like 20 years ago. Despite of that, he once again reignited that hidden SOB within himself last year. Clocks turned back to the Attitude Era and fans witnessed Steve Austin wrestle. He went through an awe-inspiring contest against Kevin Owens at Showcase of the Immortals in Texas.
That epic ride fueled the rumors of his second consecutive Mania bout this year. Even WWE presented Austin with the likes of Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar as his assumed opponents, however, Austin declined. It seems like The Rattlesnake is full enough to acknowledge his previous match against Owens as the grand finale of his legendary career.
But, what if there’s a plot twist. Austin’s unwillingness might be due to wrestling against already established stars at Mania. However, he may give another thought to his decision after hearing the latest proposal. Having a chat with WrestleRant Radio, the Maryland native LA Knight expressed his desire to battle the Bionic Redneck at the Grandest Stage of them all.
“Hell yeah. You’re talking about making a big noise, on a big stage, and with another big name. You can’t do anything better than that, but then again, I don’t know because there’s lots of times where I’m like, ‘Alright, there’s nothing that can be bigger or better than this. This is what I wanna do,’ and then something like this happens.”

How much eyeballs would LA Knight vs. Steve Austin would draw?
Being often dubbed as the carbon-copies of Stone Cold and The Rock, LA Knight has that “it” factor. Specifically when he gets that microphone. Knight has spit fire during his so-far outings on WWE television. Recently, the former Million Dollar Champion got to share the ring with The Undertaker, while at Raw 30.
As far as a Stone Cold vs. LA Knight fantasy goes, it sure as heck smells money. The OG and chaotic version of Steve Austin would be a too much cry in these modern times. That being said, it can easily catapult someone like LA Knight up the ranks in front of the main-roster audience, just through Austin’s mere involvement.
Also, putting your incredible past in front of the future wouldn’t be bad at all. Like he did with Kevin Owens in 2022, The Hellraiser would be more than glad to pass on the torch to Knight this year. Although many believe it’s the end for Steve Austin and he should stay away, no one would ever complain if they really get this dream match.
