“The next barrier is genderless!” WWE Hall of Famer, Lita addresses the foremost hurdle in Women’s Wrestling
Following the women's revolution, WWE Hall of Famer and former four time Women's champion, Lita, feels the competition in wrestling should no longer be confined by gender.

Lita rose to fame in the WWE during the late 1990s and early 2000s. She was known for her high-flying moves and punk rock-inspired style. Lita made her WWE debut in February 2000 as the valet for Essa Rios. She quickly became popular with fans for her unique look and daring in-ring style. Throughout her WWE career, Lita won four Women’s Championships and was involved in several high-profile storylines.
She retired from wrestling in 2006 but has made occasional appearances in the years since. Lita was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014. It’s fair to say that she, along with other great women, laid the foundation for the revolution of women’s wrestling. In a recent interview with Forbes, Lita discussed the future of women’s wrestling not being confined by gender.
Lita said, “To me, the next barrier is genderless. I don’t care how you identify, we’re just going to go out there and show out”. She also admitted that women should be equal chances and not for gender representation purposes. She further described that means there could be eight women matches on one night, and two on the other.
The current women’s champion concluded, “Just continuing on not being confined by gender, it’s like: ‘I see a prize, I go after it. We’re not worried about what defines my gender. I see a title, and that’s what I want to do”. Considering her statement, Lita wants all the barriers to end and take one step further in the women’s revolution.

Lita prepares for her first WWE WrestleMania match in over two decades

In January last year, Lita made her in-ring return to the WWE after a long time. She had a feud against Becky Lynch for the Raw women’s championship. While she was unsuccessful in capturing the title, it was great to see her perform again.
After almost a year, Lita made her triumphant return at Raw Is XXX, to help Becky and even the odds against Damage CTRL. Weeks later, she went on to become the women’s tag team champion along with Lynch as well.
During their feud with Damage CTRL, they also got joined by the WWE Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus. Following some change in plans, Lita and Becky will team up with Stratus to take on Damage CTRL in a six-woman tag match, instead of defending their women’s tag titles at WrestleMania 39.
