For not just the fans, Mercedes Mone is an undeniable asset to each and every wrestling domain across the globe. Her captivating success in WWE helped Banks grow exponentially and to enlarge her fanbase. So being said, she made headlines after debuting for NJPW earlier this year in January. After leaving WWE due to unprecedented turn of events, her fans were concerned for her wrestling future.
Shutting all the trolls, she decided to break the shackles and enter an unexplored territory in Japan. Since then, Mone attracted glorified wealth towards New Japan Pro-Wrestling through her stardom. Unfortunately, back on May 21 at the Resurgence pay-per-view, she suffered an injury to her right ankle. As a result, the CEO of NJPW’s women’s division lost against Willow Nightingale. A few weeks ago, fans started fantasizing Mone’s future with All Elite Wrestling.
Well, that came as a no-brainer as she’s signed to NJPW, which has healthy business relations with the Tony Khan-led promotion. As a matter of fact, AEW x NJPW : The Forbidden Door falls this June on 27. There were massive hopes from the wrestling fanatics, including Tony Khan himself to feature the AEW debut of former Sasha Banks on this crossover special in Canada.
According to Sports Illustrated, several source close to Tony Khan have indicated that discussions were held between Mercedes Mone and AEW. Surely, that would’ve been done to figure out creative and money for Banks, had she agreed on terms. But, for the moment, none of that matters anymore as Mercedes would not be stepping back soon in the ring. Her injury is expected to prevent the multi-time Women’s Champion from competing for months.

Mercedes Mone’s long-term rival hopes for her WWE return
Back in February this year, Sasha Banks’ long-term rival cum friend Bayley, opened up on the former’s untanned growth. Speaking to Ariel Helwani, the Role Model exclaimed how Banks means the world to her, as she’s always been there for her. Repaying some love, Bayley was present at Wrestle Kingdom 17 at the Tokyo Dome where Banks made her NJPW debut.
Also, the Damage CTRL leader said that WWE will always going to be The Boss’ home and she’s not giving up on the hope that Mone will eventually return back where she started as a rookie. “I’ll say yes. Because I mean, this is her home. This is her dream, and I love to see what she’s doing and what she’s going to be doing over the next few months. but I know this is her home and where her heart is.”
