Just when the triple threat main event on SmackDown between Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles entered its home stretch, Roman Reigns and his goons crashed the party. They caused mayhem, and it did not bode well for The Tribal Chief. Nick Aldis, who was ringside and saw the entire car crash unfold, told Paul Heyman to congratulate his client because he just got himself into deep waters.
Having said that, Roman Reigns will now defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight in a Fatal-4-way match at the Royal Rumble. And that’s what the fans were craving. Initially, when the SmackDown General Manager announced a number-one contenders match, everyone thought it wasn’t a great idea.
Be it Orton, Knight, or Styles, they had some unfinished business with The Bloodline and deserved a rematch against Roman Reigns. WWE did not deny the fans their wish. At this point, Roman is seemingly incognizant of the fact that he’s putting his title on the line in a multi-man match in St. Petersburg. It would be a tough pill to swallow for Reigns when Heyman makes him aware.
It’s going to be the first title defense for Roman Reigns in a Fatal 4-way contest during his ongoing reign. The fact that he would not need to get pinned or submitted to lose the gold makes the clash even more intriguing.
Last night, when The Bloodline was wreaking havoc, especially when Roman Reigns was toying, the chants of The Rock reverberated throughout the Rogers Arena. Although he didn’t come out to make the save, it’s pretty much clear that the inevitable dream match is finally happening.
Did Roman Reigns respond to The Rock subtly calling him out on Raw?
Earlier on the show, Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman were asked to issue their comments on The Rock’s return to Raw. Especially about what he had to say after laying out Jinder Mahal. Though Reigns didn’t respond in an official capacity, his Wiseman, Paul Heyman cut a scathing promo afterwards.
Reacting to The Great One calling The Tribal Chief out, Heyman said that there are two things that can make one go viral. Number one is dating Taylor Swift, and number two is calling out Roman Reigns.
Paul said that The Rock is not invited to The Island of Relevancy. Also, there’s not one man on the face of the planet that can beat Roman Reigns. Those were the words that headlined a strong response from The Special Counsel.
