Jeff Hardy has created some of the most iconic moments in wrestling history owing to his extreme gimmick. While his in-ring abilities are unparalleled, there is a dark shadow always looming over his real-life. The Charismatic Enigma had well-documented struggles with addiction and substance abuse. This is why he was suspended and also released from different promotions he had worked with. However, there is some positive news for the former WWE superstar who might be looking to turn his life around.

According to Fightful, Jeff Hardy’s latest DUI case is now closed. The Enigmatic soul faced his third charge of DUI in the last 10 years in June 2022. The latest documents from the Volusia County Clerk of Circuit Court records revealed some insights into the case. Only two days before, Jeff’s Attorney filed a motion to exclude certain evidence from the “unreliable breath test results.”

According to his attorney, Jeff’s “breath tests did not comply with FDLE’s requirements established in FDLE’s administrative rules to ensure reliable quantitative breath test.” Additionally, “there is insufficient probative evidence that the breath tests in Mr. Hardy’s case were performed substantially in accordance with methods approved by FDLE and with a compliant machine approved by FDLE.”

Fightful reports that on February 23, “Hardy signed a written plea of no contest to 3rd offense of DUI within 10 years, driving while his license was suspended, revoked, or canceled, and a driving violation with a driver’s license restriction.” This comes in addition to other provisions as well. These included a $4000 fine, DUI school or drug rehab program, and community service.

After the unfortunate news broke in June last year, AEW decided to pull Jeff Hardy from all its programming and advertisement. The company consequently suspended the Charismatic Enigma without pay, while providing him assistance with the rehab program. AEW CEO, Tony Khan gave an update in the following months that Hardy is “doing much better” while still being under treatment. AEW also revealed that Jeff cannot return to the promotion until he finishes substance abuse treatment.

In October last year, Matt Hardy also provided an update on Brother Nero. According to him, Jeff was doing “really great” and his wife is also “super happy with his progress.” The Anti-Christ of pro wrestling last competed in a tag team match with his brother against the Young Bucks at Double or Nothing. It remains to be seen whether the team Extreme will return in full force to AEW soon or not.
