Randy Orton has returned to WWE with vengeance on his mind. The moment he pulled up to SmackDown this week, there was already a bidding war underway to snatch The Viper. The general managers, Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis, butted heads in pursuit of securing Orton for their respective brands. In the main event, The Apex Predator made his choice.

Though Adam Pearce offered Randy a direct shot at the World Heavyweight title, that was not something he sought. Instead, he put pen to paper for the blue brand, thus officially ending his status as a free agent. But what made Randy sign the contract held by Nick Aldis so nimbly? The answer to that question is simple: it’s because of The Bloodline.

Before Orton chose to become a SmackDown exclusive superstar, Paul Heyman made his way out. He affirmed that Randy is not going to make any choices, as The Bloodline is going to do it for him. Out came Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso to gain a 2-on-1 advantage over The Viper.

However, Orton was not alone as LA Knight arrived at the Legend Killer’s aid. The Megastar took out Solo Sikoa, feeding a vulnerable Jimmy Uso in the ring to a coiled Viper.

Orton did his thing and delivered a picturesque RKO to Jimmy. It was only after this that Randy Orton ditched Adam Pearce’s offer to join Raw and chose SmackDown. After that, The Viper told Paul Heyman to let Roman Reigns know that ‘Daddy’s back’. And just like that, it all came through. Heyman now has a glaring issue to deal with.

Randy Orton is coming after Roman Reigns following SmackDown promo

As made obvious during SmackDown, Randy Orton wants to take down Roman Reigns at any cost. He has not forgotten what The Bloodline, led by their Tribal Chief, did to him in May last year. Though it’s still early days, Orton could set his eyes on Roman’s Undisputed WWE Universal Championship too.

He has not held a World Title for a very long time. Having said that, rumors are swirling around in the market that Randy Orton could be a first-ballot contender for Roman Reigns’ gold at the Royal Rumble.

The Head of the Table is closing in on 1200 days as the champion, and there’s no sign of him slowing down. However, the way Randy Orton is measuring his prey of late, Reigns might have to watch his back.
