Randy Orton sustained a back injury in May last year. Since then, The Viper has not made a single appearance on WWE television despite recovering from back fusion surgery months ago. However, Randy Orton was recently at the WWE Performance Center building in Orlando, Florida.
In a clip that has gone viral, the Apex Predator visibly laughed as the fans called him. Moreover, he responded by gesturing a finger to his lips, seemingly to tell them not to spread the news. Despite that, the video uploaded online made many speculate about the return of Orton in the foreseeable future. As per Fightful, a WWE source confirmed that Randy Orton was indeed at the Performance Center this week.
The Stamford-based promotion uses the arena for recruitment and training purposes. Therefore, the former World Champion is most likely training for a comeback. Previously, reports claimed that doctors advised Randy not to rush for an in-ring return. Due to the severity of the injury, they believed that it was best that he take his time before commencing training.
Randy Orton’s last appearance saw him and Matt Riddle lose against The Usos in a tag title unification bout. Moreover, the WWE Universe speculated that he was close to facing Roman Reigns at that year’s SummerSlam. Needless to say, the future Hall of Famer’s return will get an unfathomable reaction from the crowd.

Randy Orton’s possible opponents after speculation arises about his WWE return
The WWE Universe is ecstatic after Randy Orton presumably began training for an in-ring return. As expected, fans have started speculating on the legend’s possible feuds. There are several opponents for the Apex Predator to battle in the future.
The most obvious choice is for The Viper to reunite with his RK-Bro partner, Matt Riddle, and win the tag team championships again. Moreover, a future rivalry with the latter seems realistic as well. However, Riddle’s recent legal troubles leave a huge doubt on his future with the promotion as well.
Therefore, Randy Orton may resume his feud with The Bloodline and square off against Roman Reigns for his title. As of early August, WWE has not yet factored the Apex Predator into any creative plans. Despite that, the fans will be happy to see the 14-time World Champion compete again, irrespective of his opponents.
