The match between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber was one of the most emotionally charged matches in recent memory. While many fans wished to see the Montreal native triumph over the Tribal Chief it was not meant to be. However, a select few will get to see the fight again because two superstars are heading to Toronto for a live event.

WWE recently announced that Roman Reigns will be at the house show in Toronto, as part of their “Road to WrestleMania” live tour. In a follow-up to that announcement, they finally revealed the Undisputed champion will take on Sami Zayn once again for the title. While Roman is not going to lose that match, it was still big news because the WWE Universe rarely sees the Tribal Chief doing these house shows these days. Furthermore, a match against Sami Zayn makes it an even bigger attraction.

While talking about the upcoming live event, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio revealed the reason behind the match. The originally advertised match for Toronto was Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens vs. Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns. However, WWE changed the plans as the Montreal superstars still haven’t reunited on TV. Thus, it wouldn’t have made much sense for them to team up, even if it was for one night.

In addition to that, Meltzer also suggested that the one-on-one match is also likely to sell more tickets than the tag-team one. He said that the last time he checked, the live event had only sold 6,000 tickets. Whatever the reason, the Elimination Chamber rematch will definitely be a delight for the fans in Toronto.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to reunite soon

WrestleMania’s main event has been confirmed, and much to the chagrin of many, it does not include Sami Zayn. The Master Strategist seems to have moved on from the World title picture into the tag team division. The rumoured match for the Canadian superstar is to team up with his fellow Montreal native, Kevin Owens, and take on The Usos for the Undisputed tag titles. While Owens has already denied the prospect, it seems like a slow burn until their eventual reunion.

While Sami Zayn was missing on the latest episode of Raw, Kevin Owens furthered the feud with the Bloodline. The Prizefighter delivered stunners to Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa, standing tall after the opening match on Monday. The report of changed plans from Meltzer all but confirms that there are no last-minute swerves, and WWE is indeed waiting for the organic reunion between the two best friends.
